Jimmy Harvey is many things. He’s a dog owner and animal lover. He’s a veteran. He’s a swimmer. He’s an adventurer. He’s a cyclist. He’s a kayaker. He’s a great guy. He’s a native Texan. He’s even one of those few rare gems born and raised in Austin. And, he’s the owner of Crystal Clear Pools and Spas.
But, he isn’t JUST the owner of Crystal Clear Pools and Spas. He’s like a father to all of his team members because, to him, we are family. With Father’s Day around the corner, we want to take this opportunity to offer a tribute to Jimmy. In my 10 plus years at Crystal Clear Pools and Spas, I have learned, and continue to learn so much from Jimmy Harvey. Firm but always fair, Jimmy inspires us to be the BEST possible versions of ourselves that we can be. He encourages us to always strive for greatness in our profession and in our lives, and often puts the means to do so in our hands, whether through advice, support, education, challenges or otherwise. He also helps us understand that excellence is not a destination but a continual journey. He leads by example, and would never ask any of us to do anything that he wouldn’t do himself (and does). I think that what most of the employees here would say about Jimmy is this: Jimmy takes in all of his employees, accepts them and gives them an opportunity to thrive. I have seen some, and heard stories of many more employees who came in with no direction in their lives, and Jimmy has helped them to figure out their path. Either by personally mentoring them, or simply by giving them a little push in the right direction, or resources to take the job here in a new direction that would be more personally fulfilling while also benefitting the company. It is very much a family sort of environment. And this is the reason for the loyalty that everyone here feels for Crystal Clear, and the reason why most of our employees have been here for so long. He often takes employees with him on camping trips or other outdoor adventures.
Not to imply that he is lenient in any way. He is always looking for ways to improve the business, and that means pushing everyone here to do our best and stay on top of new technologies or ideas. Also, he insists upon personal responsibility in the workplace, which I really respect.
